Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Customers are asked to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress options; each individual model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard

Construction The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based upon the foams utilized in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to experience some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options sound quite right, you may always check out the 4 other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for many people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the other side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you will find the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. The Helix Bed Frame With Headboard
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain to clean using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
