Construction Soft Mattress Topper Review
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of ten inches. It has a simple design with just 2 foam layers: one of thick memory foam and another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam improves airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Outstanding support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was pretty thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It’s made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Comprised of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re very likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds such as this to incorporate a top section of memory foam, this layer particularly is very thick and ought to bring some satisfying relief to the hips and shoulders. And though memory foam has a bit of a reputation for overheating in the nighttime , Puffy has been able to mitigate this with a gel infusion intended to keep things cool and nice while you sleep.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer above it, this section has a quick response to pressure and can be very firm. The combination of materials has been especially chosen to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Soft Mattress Topper Review
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam coating with a gentle, pressure-relieving feel. A lack of any sort of transition foam implies that you’re likely to interact primarily with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you’re sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you would like an even softer feel, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important aspect to consider when buying a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots could be, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the results on the image where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to a fantastic pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling onto my side, I felt some pressure relief. I am not overly surprised with this as side sleepers tend to go for softer mattresses that offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, common problem areas for people who sleep in their sides.
Stomach – Though the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who usually opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which caused some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let’s take a peek at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to symbolize another movement you are most likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are actually quite interesting motion transfer outcomes. You’ll notice a slight spike in first movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I would attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you are not likely to be too bothered by your partner’s turning and tossing in the evening.
While buying a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are very likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that’ll make it a bit tricky to change positions. Soft Mattress Topper Review
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and create a sound, edge to edge usable sleep foundation. The compact base foam coupled with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you are able to sense a consistent feel across the entire surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress includes a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this mattress out. Giving you and your body about three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It’s a good idea to be aware that you need to make the most of really testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adjust. If for some reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will easily work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the typical warranty for the mattress business is. This warranty indicates that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing errors. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the confidence that this can be a mattress that the business will stand behind.

After ordering your Puffy mattress,
you can expect it to appear on your doorstep within two to five days. The company provides free shipping through FED-EX to the contiguous 48 States and to most of the states in Canada. However, delivery to Hawaii and Alaska costs $150. Additionally, the buyer will find a delivery number so he could track the delivery.
All Puffy mattresses are compressed into a small box sized 19″ x 19″ x 42″ to guarantee easy and environment-friendly transfer. All you need to do is move the box into your bedroom and unroll the mattress. This makes moving into a new residence incredibly simple — no need to organize with a mattress store and waiting all day for a delivery truck. Keep in mind that it could take a few hours for your mattress to expand fully after being in the box for some time.
Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in every material of this mattress. The upper layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses conduction and convection to dissipate heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is dense and supportive to make a solid base that will not let you sink into the mattress and also help keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to aid in keeping cool. All this allows for the mattress to maintain an ideal temperature while sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I would say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam texture, so can be good for anybody with a penchant for the material. Soft Mattress Topper Review
And lastly, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anyone in search of a gentle, calming mattress.
Though the memory foam is a big selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may discover that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
It also contributes to a structure that doesn’t have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for those needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Soft Mattress Topper Review
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who want to get all the advantages of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits well to the mattress. It even has a rather suitable and aesthetically pleasing cloud layout that actually adds to the appearance. The side panels are a dark grey durable fabric that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one is going to remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide good pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and contains motion isolation that makes it appropriate for many different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent choice for side sleepers as the thick relaxation layer works to alleviate tension at the shoulders and hips. Moreover, the mattress provides proper body support and is a fantastic choice for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Soft Mattress Topper Review
