The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It features a straight forward design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details as listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a slow response to pressure, which usually means you are likely to sink deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds like this to incorporate a top section of memory foam, this layer particularly is incredibly thick and ought to bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. And though memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has managed to mitigate this with a gel infusion meant to keep things nice and cool as you sleep.
Support Layer – Composed of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this section has a quick response to pressure and can be quite firm. The combination of materials was especially chosen to bring targeted relief to the spine. Soft Mattress Full Size
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer with a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. A lack of any kind of transition foam means that you are very likely to interact primarily with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you’re sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer texture, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which comes with an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
Another important aspect to consider when buying a new mattress is where pressure points will form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots might be, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the results on the image where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this resulted in a fantastic pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling onto my side, I sensed a few pressure relief. I’m not too surprised by this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses which offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer mattresses that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which caused some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let’s take a peek at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to symbolize a different movement you’re most likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite intriguing motion transfer outcomes. You’ll notice a slight spike in first movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I would attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is great at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your partner’s turning and tossing in the evening.
When purchasing a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also measured how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you’re likely to sink in deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it a bit tricky to change positions. Soft Mattress Full Size
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel secure and make a sound, edge to edge usable sleep foundation. The compact base foam coupled with the supportive memory foam should create a very strong perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you are able to sense a consistent feel across the whole surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about 3 months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It’s good to note that you need to take advantage of really testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a brand new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adjust. If for some reason you reach the end of your trial period and it’s not a good fit, Puffy will work with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress business is. This warranty shows that Puffy actually backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing errors. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the assurance that this can be a mattress that the business is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress incorporates cooling technology in each material of this mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam that uses convection and conduction to release heat and keep it away from the body. Additionally,a it is infused with gel that increases the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is compact and supportive to create a solid base that won’t allow you to sink into the mattress and also keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All this enables for the mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a classic memory foam texture, so can be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Soft Mattress Full Size
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anyone seeking a gentle, soothing structure.
While the memory foam is a significant selling point of the mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
It also contributes to a structure that doesn’t have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for people needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Soft Mattress Full Size
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for all those who are looking to receive all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and cleaned when needed. The top is stretchy and soft and fits nicely to the mattress. It has a rather appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud layout that actually adds to the appearance. The side panels are a dim grey durable fabric that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one will remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will give decent pressure relief. Puffy is very sturdy and contains motion isolation that makes it appropriate for many different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to say this mattress is an excellent choice for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to alleviate tension at the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress offers proper body support and is a fantastic selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Soft Mattress Full Size
