Construction Soft Mattress Cover
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It features a straight forward design with just 2 foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details as listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam improves airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for healing sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Comprised of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is super soft and has a very slow response to pressure, which means you’re likely to sink deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds such as this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is very thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the hips and shoulders. Although memory foam has a bit of a reputation for overheating in the nighttime , Puffy has been able to mitigate this with a gel infusion meant to keep things nice and cool as you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Composed of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer above it, this part has a quick response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials was especially selected to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Soft Mattress Cover
We discovered Puffy’s thick memory foam coating with a gentle, pressure-relieving feel. An absence of any kind of transition foam means that you’re very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you would like an even softer feel, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an additional layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important aspect to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points will form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these tension spots might be, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the outcomes on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, together with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my own body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to a great pressure relief in this position, it did make it difficult to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I felt some pressure relief. I’m not overly surprised with this as side sleepers tend to go for softer mattresses that offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a huge benefit for side sleepers, it is a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer mattresses that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Now, let’s take a peek at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is intended to signify a different movement you’re most likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite interesting motion transfer outcomes. You’ll see a small spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is great at absorbing and dampening motion, which makes it so you’re unlikely to be too bothered by your partner’s turning and tossing in the evening.
While purchasing a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
What this tells me is that you’re likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it a bit difficult to change positions. Soft Mattress Cover
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel secure and make a solid, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The compact base foam coupled with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to sense a consistent feel across the whole surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress includes a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period should give you more than enough time to try this mattress out. Giving you and your body about three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is good to be aware that you need to make the most of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adjust. If for any reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will easily work with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress comes with a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress business is. This warranty indicates that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing mistakes. Minus the average wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the assurance that this is a mattress that the company will stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress incorporates cooling technology in every material of the mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam that uses conduction and convection to dissipate heat and keep it away from the body. Additionally,a it is infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is dense and supportive to make a solid base that won’t let you sink into the mattress and also help keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All of this enables for your mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a classic memory foam texture, so could be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Soft Mattress Cover
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so could do wonders for anyone in search of a gentle, soothing structure.
While the memory foam is a significant selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may discover that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which could be a detractor for people in need of buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Soft Mattress Cover
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who want to receive all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover which can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits well to the mattress. It even has a rather appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud layout that actually adds to the look. The side panels are a dim grey durable cloth that compliment the mattress too. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one will remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide decent pressure relief. Puffy is very sturdy and contains motion isolation that makes it appropriate for many different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to say this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to alleviate tension at the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress provides proper body support and is a fantastic selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Soft Mattress Cover
