Construction Soft Heat Mattress Pad
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It has a simple design with just 2 foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam improves airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Outstanding support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which provides airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic material.
Comfort Layer – Comprised of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is super soft and has a slow response to pressure, which means you are very likely to sink deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds like this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is very thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. And though memory foam has a bit of a reputation for overheating in the nighttime , Puffy has managed to mitigate this using a gel infusion intended to keep things nice and cool while you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this section has a fast response to pressure and can be very firm. The combination of materials has been specifically selected to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Soft Heat Mattress Pad
We discovered Puffy’s thick memory foam layer having a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. An absence of any sort of transition foam implies that you are very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re most likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you would like an even softer texture, you might want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important aspect to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these tension spots might be, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the outcomes on the image where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my own body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling onto my side, I felt a few pressure relief. I am not too surprised with this as side sleepers tend to go for softer mattresses that provide cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, common problem areas for people who sleep in their sides.
Stomach – Though the thick memory foam comfort layer is a huge benefit for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which caused some discomfort in this position.
Now, let us take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to another.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to symbolize a different movement you’re likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite intriguing motion transfer results. You’ll see a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I would attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you’re not likely to be too bothered by your partner’s turning and tossing in the evening.
When buying a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that’ll make it a bit tricky to change positions. Soft Heat Mattress Pad
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel secure and make a solid, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The compact base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very strong perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to feel a consistent feel across the whole surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. So far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress includes a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period should give you more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is good to be aware that you need to make the most of really testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you buy a brand new mattress your body needs a few weeks to months to fully adapt. If for some reason you reach the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress comes with a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress industry is. This warranty shows that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal defects or manufacturing mistakes. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This provides consumers with the confidence that this can be a mattress that the business will stand behind.

Keep in mind that it could take a few hours for your mattress to expand fully after being in the box for some time.
Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress incorporates cooling technology in each material of this mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses conduction and convection to release heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The base foam is compact and supportive to make a solid base that won’t allow you to sink into the mattress and keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All this enables for your mattress to maintain an ideal temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to alleviate tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a classic memory foam texture, so can be good for anybody with a penchant for the material. Soft Heat Mattress Pad
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anyone in search of a gentle, soothing structure.
Though the memory foam is a significant selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may find that it sends their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for people needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Soft Heat Mattress Pad
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who are looking to get all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits nicely to the mattress. It even has a very appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud pattern that really adds to the look. The side panels are a dim gray durable cloth that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the conventional foam mattresses, this one is going to remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide good pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and includes motion isolation that makes it appropriate for many different kinds of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick relaxation layer works to relieve strain in the shoulders and hips. Moreover, the mattress offers proper body support and is a great selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Soft Heat Mattress Pad
