Construction Soft Crib Mattress
The Puffy is essentially a memory foam mattress that measures a total of ten inches. It has a straight forward design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for healing sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was pretty thin, which provides airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is super soft and has a slow response to pressure, which usually means you are likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s normal for all-foam beds like this to incorporate a top section of memory foam, this layer particularly is very thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the hips and shoulders. Although memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has managed to mitigate this using a gel infusion meant to keep things cool and nice as you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Composed of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this part has a quick response to pressure and can be quite firm. The combination of materials was especially selected to bring targeted relief to the spine. Soft Crib Mattress
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer with a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. A lack of any kind of transition foam means that you are very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you would like an even softer texture, you might want to check out the Puffy Lux, which has an additional layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
Another important factor to consider when buying a new mattress is where pressure points will form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these tension spots might be, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the image where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, together with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it difficult to move around and change positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I sensed a few pressure relief. I’m not overly surprised with this as side sleepers tend to go for softer mattresses which offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, common problem areas for those who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a huge benefit for side sleepers, it is a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Now, let us take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to signify a different movement you are likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite intriguing motion transfer outcomes. You’ll notice a small spike in first movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you are not likely to be too bothered by your partner’s turning and tossing in the night.
When purchasing a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are very likely to sink in deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that’ll make it somewhat tricky to change positions. Soft Crib Mattress
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and create a sound, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The dense base foam coupled with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you are able to feel a consistent feel across the entire surface without having a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about 3 months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is good to be aware that you should make the most of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adapt. If for any reason you get to the end of your trial period and it’s not a good fit, Puffy will work with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress industry is. This guarantee indicates that Puffy actually backs their product. Covering any abnormal defects or manufacturing errors. Minus the average wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the assurance that this is a mattress that the company will stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress incorporates cooling technology in each material of this mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses conduction and convection to release heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is dense and supportive to make a solid base that won’t let you sink into the mattress and also keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All of this allows for your mattress to maintain an perfect temperature while sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam texture, so could be good for anybody with a penchant for the material. Soft Crib Mattress
And lastly, this is one soft mattress, therefore could do wonders for anybody in search of a gentle, calming structure.
Though the memory foam is a significant selling point of the mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who might find that it sends their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that doesn’t have very much bounce, which could be a detractor for people in need of buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Soft Crib Mattress
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for all those who want to receive all the advantages of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits nicely to the mattress. It even has a rather appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud pattern that really adds to the look. The side panels are a dim grey durable fabric that compliment the mattress as well. Soft Crib Mattress
Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one is going to stay cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide good pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and contains motion isolation which makes it suitable for all different kinds of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips. Moreover, the mattress offers proper body support and is a great choice for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Soft Crib Mattress
