Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Reviews For Helix Mattress
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective variant provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Reviews For Helix Mattress

Construction Reviews For Helix Mattress
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams used in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Reviews For Helix Mattress
Underneath, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm bed to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment does not really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options feel right, you can always check out the 4 other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be important for many people, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially interesting as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Reviews For Helix Mattress
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel very secured seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Reviews For Helix Mattress
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to wash using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
