Construction Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It has a simple design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Outstanding support and spinal alignment for healing sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It’s made out of polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic material.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a slow response to pressure, which means you are very likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s normal for all-foam beds like this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is incredibly thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the hips and shoulders. Although memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has managed to mitigate this with a gel infusion meant to keep things nice and cool as you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this part has a fast response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials was specifically selected to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer having a gentle, pressure-relieving feel. A lack of any sort of transition foam means that you are likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you are likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer feel, you might want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
Another important aspect to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots might be, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the results on the image where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this resulted in some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it difficult to move around and change positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I felt a few pressure relief. I’m not too surprised by this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses which provide cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, common problem areas for people who sleep in their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. Here, I could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Now, let us take a peek at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is intended to signify another movement you’re likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are actually quite intriguing motion transfer results. You’ll notice a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, which makes it so you are unlikely to be too bothered by your partner’s tossing and turning in the night.
When purchasing a new mattress}, most people wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are very likely to sink in deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it somewhat difficult to change positions. Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and make a solid, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The dense base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to feel a consistent feel across the entire surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this mattress out. Giving you and your body roughly three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is a good idea to note that you need to make the most of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you buy a new mattress your body needs several weeks to months to fully adjust. If for any reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will easily work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress comes with a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress business is. This guarantee indicates that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing mistakes. Minus the average wear and tear of a mattress. This provides consumers with the assurance that this is a mattress that the business is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in each material of the mattress. The upper layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam that uses conduction and convection to release heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that increases the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The base foam is dense and supportive to create a solid base that will not let you sink into the mattress and also keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to aid in keeping cool. All of this allows for the mattress to maintain an ideal temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam feel, so can be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so could do wonders for anybody seeking a gentle, soothing mattress.
While the memory foam is a significant selling point of the mattress, it does make things a little uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may discover that it sends their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for those in need of buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for all those that want to get all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover which can be unzipped and cleaned when needed. The top is stretchy and soft and fits well to the mattress. It has a rather suitable and aesthetically pleasing cloud pattern that actually adds to the appearance. The side panels are a dim gray durable fabric that compliment the mattress too. Unlike the conventional foam mattresses, this one will stay cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide decent pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and includes motion isolation that makes it appropriate for all different kinds of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to relieve strain in the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress provides proper body support and is a fantastic selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Puffy Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
