Construction Puffy Brand Mattress
The Puffy is essentially a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It has a straight forward design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Outstanding support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was pretty thin, which provides airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic material.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a very slow response to pressure, which usually means you’re very likely to sink deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds such as this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is very thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. And though memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has managed to mitigate this with a gel infusion meant to keep things nice and cool as you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer above it, this section has a quick response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials has been especially selected to bring targeted relief to the spine. Puffy Brand Mattress
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer with a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. A lack of any kind of transition foam means that you’re likely to interact primarily with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer texture, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an additional layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
Another important factor to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots could be, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the outcomes on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my own body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to a great pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I sensed some pressure relief. I am not too surprised by this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses which offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Now, let us take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress into another.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to signify another movement you’re most likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite intriguing motion transfer results. You’ll notice a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is great at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your partner’s tossing and turning in the night.
When buying a new mattress}, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it a bit difficult to change positions. Puffy Brand Mattress
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and make a solid, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The dense base foam coupled with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to sense a consistent feel across the whole surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress includes a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period should give you more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It’s good to be aware that you need to take advantage of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a brand new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adapt. If for some reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress industry is. This warranty indicates that Puffy actually backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing mistakes. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This provides consumers with the confidence that this is a mattress that the business is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in each material of the mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses conduction and convection to release heat and keep it away from the body. Additionally,a it is infused with gel that increases the airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is compact and supportive to create a solid base that will not let you sink into the mattress and help keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All of this enables for your mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam texture, so could be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Puffy Brand Mattress
And lastly, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anyone in search of a gentle, soothing mattress.
While the memory foam is a big selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who may find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for those in need of buoyant support.

The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone that want to receive all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits well to the mattress. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one is going to remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will give good pressure relief. Puffy is very sturdy and contains motion isolation which makes it appropriate for all different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent choice for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to relieve strain in the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress provides proper body support and is a fantastic choice for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Puffy Brand Mattress
