Construction Pillow Top Soft Mattress
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It features a straight forward design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam improves airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re very likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s normal for all-foam beds such as this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is very thick and ought to bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. And though memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has managed to mitigate this with a gel infusion meant to keep things nice and cool while you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Composed of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this part has a fast response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials has been specifically selected to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Pillow Top Soft Mattress
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer with a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. A lack of any kind of transition foam means that you’re very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re most likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer texture, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which comes with an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important aspect to consider when buying a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these tension spots might be, I placed a pressure map over the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the results on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it difficult to move around and change positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I sensed a few pressure relief. I’m not too surprised by this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses that offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it is a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer mattresses that keep the spine in an even alignment. Here, I could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which caused some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let’s take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to another.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is meant to signify a different movement you are likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are actually quite interesting motion transfer results. You’ll notice a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is great at absorbing and dampening motion, which makes it so you are not likely to be too disturbed by your partner’s tossing and turning in the evening.
While purchasing a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also measured how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are very likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it somewhat tricky to change positions. Pillow Top Soft Mattress
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and make a solid, edge to edge usable sleep foundation. The compact base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very durable perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to sense a consistent feel across the whole surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. So far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about 3 months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is good to be aware that you need to make the most of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you buy a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adapt. If for some reason you reach the end of your trial period and it’s not a good fit, Puffy will work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress comes with a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the typical warranty for the mattress business is. This warranty shows that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing errors. Minus the average wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the assurance that this is a mattress that the business will stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in every material of the mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses convection and conduction to dissipate heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is dense and supportive to create a solid base that will not let you sink into the mattress and also help keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to aid in keeping cool. All of this allows for the mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I would say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a classic memory foam texture, so can be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Pillow Top Soft Mattress
And finally, this is one soft mattress, therefore can do wonders for anyone in search of a gentle, calming mattress.
Though the memory foam is a significant selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who might discover that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that doesn’t have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for those needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Pillow Top Soft Mattress
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who are looking to get all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover which can be unzipped and cleaned when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits well to the mattress. It has a very appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud layout that really adds to the look. The side panels are a dim grey durable fabric that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one will stay cool and will cradle you fairly well and will give good pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and contains motion isolation that makes it appropriate for all different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to say this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick relaxation layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips. Moreover, the mattress provides proper body support and is a great selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Pillow Top Soft Mattress
