Construction Mattress Soft Pad
The Puffy is essentially a memory foam mattress that measures a total of ten inches. It has a straight forward design with just 2 foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for healing sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It’s made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic feel.
Comfort Layer – Made up of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is super soft and has a very slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to sink deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds like this to incorporate a top section of memory foam, this layer particularly is incredibly thick and ought to bring some satisfying relief to the hips and shoulders. Although memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the nighttime , Puffy has been able to mitigate this with a gel infusion intended to keep things nice and cool while you sleep.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this section has a fast response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials was especially chosen to deliver targeted relief to the spine. Mattress Soft Pad
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer having a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. A lack of any kind of transition foam means that you are very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re most likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer texture, you might want to check out the Puffy Lux, which has an additional layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important factor to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points will form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots could be, I placed a pressure map over the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the results on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this resulted in some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it difficult to move around and change positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I sensed some pressure relief. I’m not overly surprised with this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses that provide cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep on their sides.
Stomach – Though the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who usually opt for firmer structures that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let us take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to another.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is intended to signify another movement you’re likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite interesting motion transfer outcomes. You’ll notice a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, which makes it so you are not likely to be overly bothered by your partner’s turning and tossing in the evening.
While purchasing a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
What this tells me is that you are very likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that’ll make it a bit difficult to change positions. Mattress Soft Pad
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel stable and make a sound, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The compact base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very strong perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you are able to feel a consistent feel across the entire surface without having a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period allows for more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body about 3 months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It’s good to note that you should take advantage of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a brand new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adapt. If for any reason you reach the end of your trial period and it’s not a good fit, Puffy will easily work with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the typical warranty for the mattress business is. This guarantee indicates that Puffy actually backs their product. Covering any abnormal defects or manufacturing errors. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This provides consumers with the confidence that this can be a mattress that the business is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in each material of the mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses convection and conduction to dissipate heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that increases the airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses.
The base foam is compact and supportive to create a solid base that won’t let you sink into the mattress and also help keep you closer to the surface at which less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to aid in keeping cool. All of this enables for your mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I would say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam texture, so can be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Mattress Soft Pad
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anybody seeking a gentle, soothing structure.
While the memory foam is a big selling point of the mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who might discover that it sends their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
It also contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for those needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Mattress Soft Pad
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone that want to get all the advantages of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and cleaned when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits nicely to the mattress. It even has a very suitable and aesthetically pleasing cloud pattern that really adds to the look. The side panels are a dark gray durable cloth that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one will remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will give good pressure relief. Puffy is very sturdy and includes motion isolation which makes it appropriate for many different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to state this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve strain in the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress offers proper body support and is a fantastic choice for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Mattress Soft Pad
