Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Is Helix Sleep Good
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Is Helix Sleep Good

Construction Is Helix Sleep Good
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique mattresses (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Is Helix Sleep Good
Underneath, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options sound quite right, you could always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the collection).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be significant for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Is Helix Sleep Good
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
