Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Weight Limit

Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each individual model offers a unique combination of support and firmness:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support

Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with additional support.

Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Weight Limit

Construction Helix Weight Limit

All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Weight Limit

Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

helix-midnight-construction

Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.

Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.

Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.

Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Lastly, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.

Firmness and Support

After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional choices.

Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.

For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.

Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.

Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are smaller than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.

Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.

Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.

Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.

Bear in mind that if none of these options seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).

Motion Transfer

Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Weight Limit

Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.

Sinkage

When getting a new mattress, most people would like to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.

Even though you are going to encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.

Edge Support

Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.

In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.

Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a complete refund.

If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Weight Limit

Helix Warranty

The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!

If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.

For routine cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.

Final Thoughts Helix Weight Limit

If you’re shopping for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you require, Helix’s quiz and Color Match system might be the secret to finding your very best sleep with no hassle. Their amazing system, which relies on expert opinions and artificial intelligence, was designed to better their customer’s sleep by providing a better match. Helix Weight Limit

The attributes of the Helix were thoughtfully constructed to deliver options whether you were searching for a mattress that keeps cool all night, if you needed one to cradle your curves with a thick comfort system, or both! The pocketed coil unit should offer good edge support and motion transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped construction.

Hopefully, I have provided you some notion of what the average consumer can expect from this bed, but it does provide an impressive range of customization with an option for literally every particular need or desire. Your next best sleep may just be a brief online quiz away.
