Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Stomach Sleeper
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective variant gives a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Stomach Sleeper

Construction Helix Stomach Sleeper
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 distinct models (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Stomach Sleeper
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models sound quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Stomach Sleeper
Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will find the pocketed coils and find great support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secured seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Stomach Sleeper
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure that you clean using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
