Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Phone Number

Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a survey that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each individual option provides a unique combination of firmness and support:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support

Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with extra support.

Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.

My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Phone Number

Construction Helix Sleep Phone Number

All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.

Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different models (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Sleep Phone Number

Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.

Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you prefer something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.

Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to experience some great body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.

Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.

Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.

Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.

Firmness and Support

After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.

helix-mattress-firmness-and-support-scale

The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which model you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional options.

Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.

For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.

Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.

Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.

Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.

Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.

Couples with differing body types or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.

Bear in mind that if none of those options sound right, you can always have a look at the 4 other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).

Motion Transfer

Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for all people, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Phone Number

Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.

Sinkage

While getting a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.

Even though you may experience a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the individually-wrapped coils and feel great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.

Edge Support

Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.

In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.

Laying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.

100 Night Sleep Trial

One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free of charge, and get a full refund.

If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep Phone Number

Helix Warranty

Helix Sleep offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.

As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!

If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1″ or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?

Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.

For routine cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
