Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep My Orders
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each individual variant offers a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep My Orders

Construction Helix Sleep My Orders
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams used in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Sleep My Orders
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you prefer something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will vary widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some high quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly larger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes can also pick a dual comfort model that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While buying a new mattress, the majority of people want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may experience a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will reach the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Sleep My Orders
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
