Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Sleep Code
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Sleep Code

Construction Helix Sleep Code
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Sleep Code
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are probably going to encounter some great body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with differing body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those models seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Sleep Code
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to find the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Sleep Code
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain to clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
