Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Referral
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each individual variant gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Referral

Construction Helix Referral
All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Referral
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some great body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some top quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are lighter than average or people looking for plenty of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples who weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these options seem right, you may always check out the four other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all sleepers, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Referral
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combination will interest a wide range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Referral
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
