Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Price
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Price

Construction Helix Price
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending upon the foams used in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Price
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you are probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to allow additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and generates some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options feel right, you could always have a look at the 4 other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Price
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the bed will wake you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free of charge, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Price
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
