Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Piercing Sleep
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Piercing Sleep

Construction Helix Piercing Sleep
All nine of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Piercing Sleep
Below, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you want something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some great body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or those looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences can also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those models feel right, you may always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for all sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Piercing Sleep
According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, most people would like to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe that the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix finds a local place to donate it. If there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Piercing Sleep
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
