Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Owned By Nectar
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Owned By Nectar

Construction Helix Owned By Nectar
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Owned By Nectar
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you prefer something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing body types or tastes can also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options seem right, you may always have a look at the 4 other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many people, those who doze with a partner may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you will reach the individually-wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Owned By Nectar
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
