Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Nectar Sleep
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Nectar Sleep

Construction Helix Nectar Sleep
All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique variants (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Nectar Sleep
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you prefer something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, meaning you’re likely to experience some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different body types or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those options seem right, you can always have a look at the four other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all people, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Nectar Sleep
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the other side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is not any different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix does its best to find a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Nectar Sleep
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure that you clean using gentle circular movements, rather than rubbing.
