Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Tracking
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective variant gives a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Tracking

Construction Helix Mattress Tracking
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Mattress Tracking
Below, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some satisfying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the other materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem right, you can always have a look at the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for all buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a brand-new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Tracking
The Helix Mattress includes an awesome 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
