Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Toronto
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are urged to complete a questionnaire that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress options; each respective variant gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Toronto

Construction Helix Mattress Toronto
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Toronto
Underneath, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you want something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they are also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a smaller region. Those who are smaller than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or preferences can also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options feel right, you may always have a look at the 4 other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Next up, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Toronto
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, the company does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Toronto
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
