Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Return Policy
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each individual variant provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Return Policy

Construction Helix Mattress Return Policy
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness based on the foams utilized in order to get more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Return Policy
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you prefer something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some great body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix will differ widely depending on the model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those looking for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Lastly, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those options sound right, you can always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be important for many sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Return Policy
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and find great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Mattress Return Policy
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
