Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Pricing
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress variants; each individual variant offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them great for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Mattress Pricing

Construction Helix Mattress Pricing
All 9 of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based on the foams used in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different models (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Mattress Pricing
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus very popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional options.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are needing less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. Those who are smaller than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or preferences can also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these models sound right, you may always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be important for many people, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Pricing
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most individuals wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you are likely to experience a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll reach the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Pricing
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1″ or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cold water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you clean using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
