Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Faq
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective model gives a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This variant has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Faq

Construction Helix Mattress Faq
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine different variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Mattress Faq
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. But, if you want something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to experience some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which model you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a tinier area. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences can also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options sound right, you may always check out the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Faq
Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space because of the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of people want to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you are likely to experience a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through these layers, you will reach the pocketed coils and experience great support. This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix finds a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Mattress Faq
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to have a suitable base (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is suggested to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain that you wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
