Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Mattress Delivery
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are asked to complete a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each individual model gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for side sleepers. While those with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Mattress Delivery

Construction Helix Mattress Delivery
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique models (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Mattress Delivery
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a tinier area. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with differing types of bodies or preferences may also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models feel right, you can always check out the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be significant for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Mattress Delivery
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, in addition to the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, the majority of individuals want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the individually-wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually include. Helix Sleep is no different. You customize the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not perfect, you can return it for free, and receive a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Mattress Delivery
Helix offers an awesome 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure to wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
