Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective option provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews

Construction Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique mattresses (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews
Below, I briefly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the version you pick out. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with more options.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a tinier region. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options seem right, you can always have a look at the 4 other variants in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant of the bunch).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be important for many sleepers, those who doze with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will wake you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, most people would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot . I feel very secured seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. In fact, the company finds a local place to donate it. When there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Luxury Hybrid Mattress Reviews
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the original owner of the mattress to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no turning, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it’s advised to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure that you wash using soft circular movements, rather than rubbing.
