Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Latex Mattress Twin Size
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress variants; each individual variant gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Latex Mattress Twin Size

Construction Helix Latex Mattress Twin Size
All nine of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 unique variants (and hopefully have a mattress for everyone). Helix Latex Mattress Twin Size
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you want something more luxurious, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are probably going to experience some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix will differ widely depending on which variant you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re needing less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or those looking for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing body types or tastes can also pick a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these models sound quite right, you can always have a look at the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for all people, those who doze with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that movement from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
While getting a brand-new mattress, the majority of people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the individually-wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the bed, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll over or be ejected from the bed. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix is no different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company does its best to find a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Latex Mattress Twin Size
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it has limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to have a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For routine cleaning, it is advised to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any stains or dirt. Be certain that you wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
