Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Kildare Opening Hours
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Kildare Opening Hours

Construction Helix Kildare Opening Hours
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine different models (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Kildare Opening Hours
Underneath, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with exactly the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you would like something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to encounter some great body shaping. Even though it may seem odd for a purportedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to give extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you select. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with additional options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier area. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these models feel quite right, you could always check out the four other models in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most people would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the pocketed coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel quite secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is delivered to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Kildare Opening Hours
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make sure to clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
