Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Headquarters
Helix Sleep gives you full mattress customization. Buyers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective variant provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 pounds or more often prefer the variants with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with different preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Headquarters

Construction Helix Headquarters
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the mattresses have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 unique variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Headquarters
Underneath, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have exactly the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you would like something more luxurious, you can opt to swap out the standard cover for the UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress consists of this section of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are 2 more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or people in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that’s created to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of these models sound right, you may always check out the four other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many buyers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it will illuminate just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Headquarters
Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that motion from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through those layers, you are going to reach the individually-wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combination will interest a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Couples who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and in 2 weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it is not what you wanted, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Headquarters
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is advised to use cold water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
