Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Glass Sink
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Customers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress variants; each individual model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on models with balanced support, while those that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with additional support and moderate cushioning). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Glass Sink

Construction Helix Glass Sink
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Glass Sink
Underneath, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can opt to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Because the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also going to allow extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you have more specific requirements, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body shaping, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The individually-wrapped coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, Helix Sleep recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these options feel right, you may always have a look at the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the collection).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be significant for all buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially interesting as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, in addition to the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you shouldn’t have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of individuals wish to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you are going to find the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the Helix Midnight, the individually-wrapped coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot . I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix does its best to locate a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Glass Sink
Helix offers a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
