Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Ebates
Helix Sleep allows full mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to complete a questionnaire that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other factors. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following 6 mattress models; each respective model provides a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a large assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Ebates

Construction Helix Ebates
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be rather similar. The six core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness depending upon the foams used in order to attain more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct models (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Helix Ebates
Underneath, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem odd for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it produces quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the memory foam and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer doesn’t really affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which model you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials in the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Majority of side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their main position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh up to 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models sound right, you may always check out the 4 other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many people, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper worried that movement from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When getting a brand-new mattress, most people want to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you may experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you are going to find the pocketed coils and feel great support. This combination will interest a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secured seated on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix is not any different. You create the mattress that is meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, the company locates a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Ebates
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix begins to show an indentation of 1″ or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure that you wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.
