Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Dream Interpretations
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other options. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each respective model offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for side sleepers. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a large range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Dream Interpretations

Construction Helix Dream Interpretations
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in density and firmness depending on the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the variants have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different mattresses (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Dream Interpretations
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase-change material to regulate heat.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow response to pressure, which means you are probably going to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to allow additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will find a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the version you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and make an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also assist with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who prefer a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Majority of side sleepers should feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they tend to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their spine.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 lbs or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are substantially bigger than average, Helix has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these models seem quite right, you can always check out the four other mattresses in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be significant for many buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Dream Interpretations
Based on my observation, Helix surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, the majority of individuals wish to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to encounter a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and find great support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the Helix Midnight, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel very secure sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it is sent to your home. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t what you wanted, you can return it free, and receive a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Dream Interpretations
Helix Sleep offers an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the warranty, and you need to be sure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty should be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Make certain to clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
