Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses made with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Helix Customer Service
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to fill out a survey that asks for their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress options; each respective model gives a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also markets two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Customer Service

Construction Helix Customer Service
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique versions (and supposedly have a mattress for everybody). Helix Customer Service
Below, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some great breathability. However, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will find a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a purportedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the construction, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they are also likely to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us chat about their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the model you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have moderate firmness levels, which will be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer feels soft and generates some quality body shaping, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or those who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still going with a flexible medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are lighter than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this is not their main position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix for sleepers around 350 lbs or partners that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your partner are substantially bigger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is created to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Couples with different body types or preferences may also pick a dual comfort option that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of these models sound right, you can always have a look at the four other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from one side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for many people, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Customer Service
According to my research, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space because of the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you should not have a lot of concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most men and women want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it.
While you’re likely to experience a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the individually-wrapped coils and find amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
While I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from compressing a lot beyond that. I feel very secured sitting on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Couples who need more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix is no different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it is sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free, and get a complete refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep finds a local place to donate it. When there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Customer Service
Helix Sleep offers an amazing 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to have an indentation of 1 inch or more, something that generally happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleaning, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to clean using soft circular motions, rather than rubbing.
