Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Customer Service Reviews
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their weight, height, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep mattresses with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them ideal for side sleepers. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets 2 mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them great for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for bigger, heavier individuals. This variant has an extra layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Customer Service Reviews

Construction Helix Customer Service Reviews
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in density and firmness based upon the foams used in order to get more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different mattresses (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Customer Service Reviews
Underneath, I concisely discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you want something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the normal cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll discover a heavy layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body shaping. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firm mattress to feature a memory foam layer, it is crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage doesn’t always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the individually wrapped coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to encourage extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which model you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there is just enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your back in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who prefer a firmer bed, there are two more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Most side sleepers will feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure since they sleep with most their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief may want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer suggests Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes can also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options feel right, you can always check out the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option in the collection).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s noticeable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be significant for all people, those who sleep with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Customer Service Reviews
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you are going to experience a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the pocketed coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love strong edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I believe the Helix has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Sleep is no different. You create the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it is not ideal, you can return it free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. In fact, Helix locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Customer Service Reviews
Helix offers an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with a few limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most guarantees ). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4 inches apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.

The features of this mattress were thoughtfully manufactured to provide options whether you were looking for a mattress that keeps cool all night, in the event that you wanted one to support your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should provide great edge support and motion transfer is at a minimum with their individually-wrapped structure.
