Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores fortified with polyfoam base layers. Helix Clipart
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for side sleepers. While those that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while people that weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them ideal for couples with different tastes. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a large range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Clipart

Construction Helix Clipart
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be quite similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams utilized in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the beds have all the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different models (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Helix Clipart
Below, I quickly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll find a heavy layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re probably going to encounter some satisfying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness mattress to incorporate a memory foam comfort layer, it is crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it generates quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the mattress, as opposed to “in it”. Since the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also likely to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After taking a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Helix Midnight, the uppermost foam layer is soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to control this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier sleepers or people who want a firmer mattress, there are 2 more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, but, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you may want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most their weight on a tinier area. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for plenty of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 pounds or partners that weigh up to 250 pounds each. If you or your partner are substantially larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is constructed to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or tastes may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models sound quite right, you may always have a look at the 4 other variants in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Now, let’s chat about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this will be crucial for all sleepers, those who doze with a partner may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils which help keep motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you should not have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, most individuals want to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you are likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll reach the individually-wrapped coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side should feel comfy and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I could get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll fall over or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they usually come with. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s made for you, place your order, and in two weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, Helix locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Clipart
Helix Sleep offers an awesome 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it comes with some limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you will need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1 inch or more, which is what usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleaning, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any stains or dirt. Be sure that you wash using soft circular motions, instead of rubbing.
