Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Birthday In Bed
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to complete a survey that asks for their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Then based on these answers, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each individual option offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While those with moderate cushioning don’t conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter people may feel more comfortable on variants with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to favor the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them great for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide variety of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Birthday In Bed

Construction Helix Birthday In Bed
All 9 of the various iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction should be rather similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses vary in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the models have all of the foams – some just have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 different versions (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Helix Birthday In Bed
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you prefer something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you’ll discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. While it might seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam comfort layer, it is important to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you’ll uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system brings a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also likely to encourage additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you will uncover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This section doesn’t really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to give the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s chat about their different feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on which version you choose. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and thus exceptionally popular. If you have more specific preferences, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more options.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer feels soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the other materials within the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Dawn and Helix Twilight variants.
Most side sleepers should feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still going with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller region. Those who are lighter than average or those in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel comfortable in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their primary position or they tend to change things up a lot. Firmer mattresses might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s made to accommodate a total weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with different body types or preferences can also pick a dual comfort variant that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if neither of those options feel quite right, you could always check out the 4 other beds in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress in the line).
Now, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for all buyers, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll show just how bothered you may be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Birthday In Bed
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the individually wrapped coils which help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter a little immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through these layers, you’ll find the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There may be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and safe. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate stronger edges.
Laying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the mattress without feeling like I will roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s meant for you, place your order, and in a couple of weeks, it’s sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it free, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix finds a local place to donate it. When there’s no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Helix Birthday In Bed
The Helix Mattress includes an amazing 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you must be the first owner of the mattress to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to have a proper base (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress possibly a couple of times a year to prevent it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is advised to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Be sure to wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
