Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores fortified using polyfoam base layers. Helix Bed Reviews
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Customers are urged to fill out a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress models; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are suitable for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, making them ideal for couples with different tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for bigger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement nicely, and create less noise than the average hybrid. Helix Bed Reviews

Construction Helix Bed Reviews
All nine of the various iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction will be quite similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The four different foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the models have all of the foams – some only have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer 9 different variants (and supposedly have a mattress for everyone). Helix Bed Reviews
Underneath, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I found it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you would like something more lavish, you can choose to swap out the standard cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you’re likely to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a purportedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam layer, it is important to remember that the presence of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in actuality, oftentimes it generates quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the comfort layer, you’ll find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system brings a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since these coils are individually wrapped, they are also going to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to respond.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to differ widely depending on the variant you choose. The Helix Dusk and Midnight, have medium firmness levels, which will be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some high quality body shaping, while the rest of the materials within the mattress work to counteract this and make an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also assist with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s just enough good comfort material here to conform to your lumbar while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or people who prefer a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers should feel perfectly comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be more mindful of pressure because they sleep with all of their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher variants.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers around 350 pounds or partners who weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of those options seem right, you can always check out the 4 other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of activity that is noticeable from one side of the mattress to the other. While this will be important for many people, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it will show just how bothered you will be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Helix Bed Reviews
Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper afraid that movement from the opposite side of the mattress will bother you, then you shouldn’t have much concern with this hybrid. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
While getting a new mattress, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
Even though you are likely to encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the individually-wrapped coils and find great support. This combination will interest a vast range of individuals, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
While I do feel the memory foam compress as I sit close to the edge of the mattress, the coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel quite secure seated on the bed.
In my view, Helix mattresses are well above average when it comes to edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil unit. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get near the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of purchasing a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically come with. Helix Mattress is no different. You create the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s delivered to your door. From the moment you click to purchase the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. In fact, Helix locates a local place to donate it. When there’s no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Helix Bed Reviews
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, plus the burden of proof is on the purchaser (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the Helix to use the guarantee, and you need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4 inches apart) and that you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on it!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1″ or more, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cool water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain to wash using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
