Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses manufactured using polyfoam comfort systems, dual-layer covers, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced using polyfoam base layers. Helix Account
Helix Sleep allows complete mattress customization. Buyers are urged to complete a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option offers a unique combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both these models have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with different preferences. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide assortment of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate motion transfer nicely, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Helix Account

Construction Helix Account
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams used in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams utilized within Helix mattresses are memory foam, high-grade polyurethane foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the mattresses have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer nine unique versions (and hopefully have a model for everyone). Helix Account
Below, I concisely talk about the construction (materials and quality) of your typical Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be stretchy and thin, allowing for some wonderful breathability. But, if you want something more amped up, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change fabric for heat regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This type of foam has a slow reaction to pressure, which means you are likely to encounter some satisfying body shaping. Even though it may seem strange for a supposedly medium firmness bed to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it’s crucial to remember that the existence of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it produces quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the comfort layer, you will uncover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and create a supportive, medium firm feeling as you hit the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – The majority of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift to the structure, working to put the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Because the coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to give additional breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you will find a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not affect the feel of the bed too much, functioning mostly to give the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After taking a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let’s talk about their varying firmness levels and feels.
The firmness of the Helix will vary widely depending on the variant you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which tends to be quite versatile and therefore exceptionally popular. If you have more specific needs, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to provide you with more choices.
Laying down on the Midnight, the uppermost foam comfort layer feels soft and generates some high quality body contouring, while the rest of the materials within the Midnight work to control this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole back in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a versatile medium firmness, you might want to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically have to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all of their weight on a tinier region. People who are lighter than average or people looking for lots of pressure relief might want to stick to the plusher models.
Those who sleep on their stomach will feel comfortable in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their primary position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer mattresses may be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Finally, the manufacturer recommends Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 pounds or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. If you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, the company has also created a bed called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Partners with differing types of bodies or tastes may also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Keep in mind that if none of these models feel right, you may always check out the four other beds in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, slightly firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Now, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this is going to be crucial for many buyers, those who sleep with a partner may find it particularly intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you may be by your partner’s nighttime movements. Helix Account
According to my research, Helix Sleep exceeds expectations for hybrid mattresses in this space due to the quantity and quality of foam it contains, as well as the individually wrapped coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that movement from the opposite side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage from the uppermost foam layers, when you sink through those layers, you will find the individually-wrapped coils and experience great support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
While I do feel the foam collapse as I sit close to the edge of the bed, the individually-wrapped coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much . I feel very secured sitting on the bed.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their recently updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfy and safe. Couples who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I could get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I’ll fall off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they typically include. Helix Sleep is not any different. You create the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within a couple of weeks, it is delivered to your door. From the minute you click to purchase the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it isn’t restocked or resold. Actually, the company locates a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your refunded mattress, it is recycled instead. Helix Account
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year guarantee that covers flaws, but it has some limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the first owner of the mattress to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats more than 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or more, which is what typically happens when low-density foams break down, then you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your Helix.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For routine cleanup, it’s suggested to use cool water with gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you clean using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
