Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made using dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Fun Helix
Helix Sleep gives you complete mattress customization. Purchasers are asked to fill out a survey that discusses their weight, height, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Then based on these results, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following 6 mattress options; each individual option offers a one-of-a-kind combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids that have targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them perfect for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids that have moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel more comfy on variants with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to favor the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers 2 variants with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with extra support and moderate cushioning). Both of these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This model has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect accommodates sleepers with a wide range of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and create less noise than the normal hybrid. Fun Helix

Construction Fun Helix
All 9 of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be fairly similar. The six core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density based on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The four different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all the beds have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really won’t matter much for the consumer. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine unique versions (and hopefully have a mattress for everybody). Fun Helix
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I found it to be thin and stretchy, allowing for some wonderful breathability. However, if you want something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase-change fabric for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – On top, you will encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you are likely to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm bed to incorporate a memory foam layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage doesn’t necessarily translate to softness; in fact, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you will discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer of foam works to suppress the sinkage of the comfort layer and establish a supportive, medium firm feeling as you reach the pocketed coils below.
Support Layer – The bulk of the mattress consists of this section of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to position the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they’re also going to encourage additional breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Last but not least, you’ll uncover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This segment doesn’t affect the feel of the bed too much, working mostly to provide the individually wrapped coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore very popular. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep would be happy to provide you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam layer is soft and produces some top quality body shaping, while the other materials in the mattress work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The pocketed coils and the firmer support foams also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there’s enough good comfort material in the mattress to conform to your lumbar while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger sleepers or those who prefer a firmer bed, there are 2 more choices for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Many side sleepers will feel totally comfy on the Midnight, however, if you’re wanting less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you may decide to take a look at the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that is breathable and gives the surface a little bit of bounce.
Side sleepers typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with most of their weight on a smaller area. People who are smaller than average or people looking for a lot of pressure relief may want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive tummy sleepers so that they can ensure their hips do not dip and over-arch their spine.
Last, Helix Sleep suggests Helix mattresses for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples that weigh up to 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are significantly bigger than average, Helix has also created a mattress called the Nightfall that’s built to accommodate a total weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with different body types or preferences can also pick a dual comfort model that combines Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of these options feel right, you may always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, slightly firmer compared to the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest mattress of the bunch).
Next up, let’s talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the bed to the other. While this is going to be crucial for all people, those who doze with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it will show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Fun Helix
Based on my observation, Helix Sleep surpasses expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you’re a light sleeper concerned that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I would say that any of the Helix mattresses would be a good option for couples.
When getting a new mattress, the majority of individuals would like to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
Even though you are going to experience a little immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and find amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from compressing too much . I feel quite secured seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses perform above average when it comes to edge support in comparison to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is because of their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There can be a little compression at the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side will feel comfortable and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I feel like I can get close to the edge of the bed without feeling like I will roll off or be ejected from the mattress. Overall, I think the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of purchasing a bed-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically come with. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that is intended for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it’s delivered to your home. From the minute you click to order the mattress, you have 100 nights to test it out (minus the time for delivery, so it’s more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free, and get a full refund.
If you do return the mattress, it is not resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there is no way Helix can find a way to donate your returned mattress, they have it recycled instead. Fun Helix
Helix offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers defects, but it comes with limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the first owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you need to be sure that you keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
As long as you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to have a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on it!
If your Helix starts to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, which is what generally happens when low-density foams break down, then you could be eligible for a repair or replacement of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no turning, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it’s advised to use cold water along gentle dish detergent to clean any dirt or stains. Be certain that you wash using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
Final Thoughts Fun Helix
If you are searching for a mattress and aren’t quite certain what feel that you need, Helix’s Color Match system and quiz may be the key to finding your very best sleep with little hassle. Their awesome system, which is based on expert opinions and artificial intelligence, was designed to improve their customer’s sleep by providing a better match. Fun Helix
The features of this mattress were thoughtfully manufactured to deliver options whether you were searching for a mattress that keeps cool all night, in the event that you wanted one to support your shape with a thick comfort system, or both! The coil unit should provide great edge support and motion transfer is minimal with their individually-wrapped build.
I hope that I’ve given you some notion of what the typical consumer can expect from the Helix, but it does provide an impressive range of customization with an option for literally every specific need or desire. Your next best sleep might just be a brief online quiz away.
