Construction Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
The Puffy is essentially a memory foam mattress that measures a total of ten inches. It features a simple design with just 2 foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details as listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam increases airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling system.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Exceptional support and spinal alignment for healing sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was pretty thin, which provides airflow throughout the mattress. It is made from polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic material.
Comfort Layer – Comprised of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is soft and has a slow response to pressure, which means you are very likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s typical for all-foam beds like this to feature a top section of memory foam, this layer particularly is incredibly thick and should bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. Although memory foam has a bit of a reputation for overheating in the nighttime , Puffy has been able to mitigate this using a gel infusion meant to keep things cool and nice while you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Made up of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer over it, this part has a quick response to pressure and can be very firm. The combination of materials was especially chosen to bring targeted relief to the spine. Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
We discovered Puffy’s thick memory foam layer with a gentle, pressure-relieving feel. An absence of any kind of transition foam means that you are very likely to interact primarily with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you are most likely to feel as though you are sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you want an even softer texture, you may want to have a look at the Puffy Lux, which has an extra layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
One other important aspect to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points are going to form while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these tension spots might be, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the outcomes on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, together with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to some great pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and shift positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I felt a few pressure relief. I am not overly surprised with this as side sleepers have a tendency to go for softer mattresses that offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for people who sleep in their sides.
Stomach – While the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who usually opt for firmer mattresses that keep the spine in an even alignment. Here, I could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which caused some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let us take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the level of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is meant to signify a different movement you’re likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite interesting motion transfer results. You’ll notice a slight spike in initial movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I would attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, making it so you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your partner’s tossing and turning in the night.
When buying a new mattress}, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and also quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you are likely to sink in deeply through the foam layers in this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that’ll make it somewhat difficult to change positions. Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel secure and make a sound, edge to edge usable sleep foundation. The dense base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very strong perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you are able to sense a consistent feel across the entire surface without having a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress includes a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period should give you more than enough time to try this mattress out. Giving you and your body about three months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It is good to be aware that you need to take advantage of testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you get a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to even months to fully adjust. If for any reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will easily work with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress comes with a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the typical warranty for the mattress business is. This guarantee indicates that Puffy actually backs their product. Covering any abnormal flaws or manufacturing errors. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This gives consumers with the assurance that this can be a mattress that the business is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in every material of the mattress. The upper layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam that uses convection and conduction to release heat and keep it away from the body. It’s also infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The base foam is dense and supportive to make a solid base that won’t allow you to sink into the mattress and help keep you closer to the surface at which less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All of this allows for the mattress to maintain an perfect temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First and foremost, I would say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam feel, so can be good for anyone with a penchant for the material. Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
And lastly, this is one soft mattress, so can do wonders for anyone seeking a gentle, soothing structure.
Though the memory foam is a big selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who might find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
It also contributes to a structure that doesn’t have very much bounce, which could be a detractor for people needing buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who want to get all the benefits of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and cleaned when needed. The top is stretchy and soft and fits nicely to the mattress. It even has a very appropriate and aesthetically pleasing cloud pattern that actually adds to the appearance. The side panels are a dark grey durable fabric that compliment the mattress as well. Unlike the conventional foam mattresses, this one is going to stay cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide good pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and contains motion isolation that makes it appropriate for all different kinds of sleepers. Although, I’d like to say this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick comfort layer works to alleviate strain in the shoulders and hips. In addition, the mattress offers proper body support and is a great choice for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Cheap Soft Foam Mattress
