Helix Sleep markets hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores enhanced using polyfoam base layers. Bed Frame For Helix Mattress
Helix Sleep offers complete mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, sleep position, firmness preferences, and other options. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress variants; each individual option provides a unique combination of support and firmness:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
Helix Sleep mattresses that have targeted cushioning conform closely, making them ideal for those who sleep on their side. While hybrids with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are ideal for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter men and women may feel most comfy on models with balanced support, while individuals that weigh 130 lbs or more often prefer the variants with additional support.
Helix Sleep also markets two models with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and additional support). Both these variants have one ‘Firm’ side and one ‘Soft’ side, which makes them ideal for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an extra layer of memory foam for maximum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses discovered that the customizable aspect conforms to sleepers with a wide variety of firmness preferences and body types. The mattresses also have strong edge support, isolate movement well, and produce less noise than the normal hybrid. Bed Frame For Helix Mattress

Construction Bed Frame For Helix Mattress
All 9 of the different iterations of the mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 models, the construction will be rather similar. The 6 core variants (listed above) are 10 inches tall, composed of 6 inches of pocketed coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending on the foams utilized in order to attain more/less support and more/less firmness. The 4 unique foams used within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all the foams – some just have three of the four – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the buyer. The foams are just levers that Helix Sleep can pull in order to offer 9 distinct variants (and hopefully have a model for everybody). Bed Frame For Helix Mattress
Below, I quickly talk about the construction (materials and quality) of the average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Initially, all Helix mattresses come with the same cover, made of 100 percent polyester. I thought it to be thin and pliable, allowing for some nice breathability. However, if you prefer something more amped up, you can opt to swap out the regular cover for the UltraCool one, which is composed of a phase change material to regulate temperature.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you will discover a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re probably going to experience some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firmness bed to feature a memory foam layer, it’s crucial to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not necessarily translate to softness; in actuality, most of the time it gives quite a firm feel.
Transition Layer – After sinking through the memory foam comfort layer, you will find a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the memory foam and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you reach the individually wrapped coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress is made up of this segment of individually wrapped coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, instead of “in it”. Since the coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to encourage extra breathability as air flows in between the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin segment of high-density poly foam. This layer does not really affect the feel of the mattress too much, functioning mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a look at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us discuss their different firmness levels and feels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on the version you select. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have medium firmness levels, which tends to be very versatile and thus best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep will be happy to oblige you with additional choices.
Lying down on the Helix Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some quality body contouring, while the other materials in the mattress work to control this and create an overall firmer structure. The firmer support foams and individually-wrapped coils also help with re-positioning.
For back sleepers, there is just enough good comfort material in the Helix Midnight to conform to your lower spine while supporting your whole upper spine in a neutral position. For heavier buyers or people who want a firmer bed, there are two more options for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn models.
Majority of side sleepers will feel perfectly comfy on the Midnight, however, if you are wanting a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which uses a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and provides the surface a little bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically have to be mindful of pressure because they sleep with all their weight on a smaller region. People who are smaller than average or those in the market for a lot of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher models.
Stomach sleepers will feel supported in the Midnight, especially if this isn’t their main position or they have a tendency to switch things up a lot. Firmer choices might be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can ensure their hips don’t dip and over-arch their back.
Lastly, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers up to 350 lbs or couples who weigh a maximum of 250 pounds each. In the event you or your partner are significantly larger than average, Helix has also produced a mattress called the Nightfall that is built to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 lbs.
Partners with differing body types or preferences may also select a dual comfort option that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if none of those models feel right, you could always have a look at the 4 other models in the newest collection: the Sunset (plush, softer than the Moonlight), Dusk (moderate feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, made for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest variant in the line).
Next up, let us talk about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that is noticeable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be crucial for many sleepers, those who sleep with a spouse may find it particularly interesting as it will show just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. Based on my observation, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it incorporates, as well as the pocketed coils that help keep motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper concerned that motion from the other side of the bed will bother you, you shouldn’t have much concern with this mattress. I would say that all of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
While purchasing a brand-new mattress, the majority of people would like to know whether they’ll feel as though they are sinking “into” the it or lying “on top” of it.
While you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, when you sink through those layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and find fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
Though I do feel the foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils prevent the mattress from collapsing too much . I feel quite secure seated on the mattress.
In my opinion, Helix mattresses are well above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, which is due to their newly updated edges containing reinforcement in the coil system. There may be a little compression in the comfort foams when you sit with all your weight on the side, but laying on the side should feel comfy and secure. Couples who need more space to stretch out normally love stronger edges.
Lying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the bed. Overall, I believe that the Helix has nice edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
One of the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials that they usually include. Helix Mattress is not any different. You customize the mattress that’s intended for you, place your order, and within 2 weeks, it’s sent to your door. From the moment you click to order the mattress, you’ve got 100 nights to try it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t perfect, you can return it free of charge, and receive a full refund.
Should you return the mattress, it is not restocked or resold. Actually, Helix Sleep does its best to find a local place to donate it. If there is no way the company can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it’s recycled instead. Bed Frame For Helix Mattress
The Helix Mattress includes a generous 10-year guarantee that covers defects, but it has a few limitations, exceptions, and the burden of proof is on the customer (like most warranties). Of course, you must be the original owner of the Helix to make use of the warranty, and you will need to be sure that you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all the manufacturer’s expectations for use, your warranty is valid. That means you will need to use a suitable foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and that you don’t use the Helix improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to have an indentation of 1 inch or longer, something that usually happens when low-density foams break down, you could be eligible for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses require no flipping, but it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to prevent it from wearing down from excess sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water with gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make certain that you wash using soft circular movements, instead of rubbing.
