Helix Sleep sells hybrid mattresses manufactured with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers. Bed For Helix Mattress
Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Buyers are requested to complete a survey that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other elements. Based on these answers, Helix Sleep will suggest one of the following six mattress options; each respective option provides a one-of-a-kind combination of firmness and support:
- Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
- Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
- Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and additional support
Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, which makes them optimal for those who sleep on their side. While mattresses with moderate cushioning do not conform as much and are great for pretty much all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfy on variants with balanced support, while people who weigh 130 lbs or more tend to prefer the models with additional support.
Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with balanced support and targeted cushioning) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these mattresses have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them ideal for couples with differing tastes. Last, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid developed for larger, heavier people. This model has an additional layer of memory foam for optimum support.
My review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection conforms to sleepers with a wide assortment of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also provide strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid. Bed For Helix Mattress

Construction Bed For Helix Mattress
All nine of the different iterations of this mattress will differ slightly in construction, but for 6 of the 9 variants, the construction should be fairly similar. The 6 core models (listed above) are 10 inches tall, made up of 6 inches of individually wrapped coils and 4 inches of foam.
Helix mattresses differ in firmness and density depending upon the foams used in order to achieve more/less firmness and more/less support. The 4 different foams utilized within Helix mattresses are high-grade polyurethane foam, memory foam, Helix Dynamic Foam, and a DuraDense Foam (aka support foam). Not all of the variants have all of the foams – some only have 3 of the 4 – but it really shouldn’t matter much for the purchaser. The foams are merely levers that Helix Sleep can pull to be able to offer nine unique models (and supposedly have a model for everyone). Bed For Helix Mattress
Below, I briefly discuss the construction (materials and quality) of your average Helix mattress, the Helix Midnight.
Cover – Originally, all Helix mattresses have the same cover, made of 100% polyester. I thought it to be pliable and thin, allowing for some nice breathability. But, if you would like something more lavish, you can elect to swap out the normal cover for the brand’s UltraCool one, which is made up of a phase change material for temperature regulation.
Comfort Layer – Up top, you’ll encounter a thick layer of memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, meaning you’re likely to encounter some gratifying body contouring. Even though it may seem odd for a supposedly medium firm mattress to make use of a memory foam comfort layer, it’s important to remember that the feeling of deep sinkage does not always translate to softness; in fact, oftentimes it gives quite a firm feeling.
Transition Layer – After getting past the memory foam comfort layer, you’ll discover a transition layer of poly foam. This layer works to curb the sinkage of the comfort layer and set a supportive, medium firm feel as you hit the pocketed coils underneath.
Support Layer – Most of the mattress consists of this segment of pocketed coils. This system gives a supportive lift into the construction, working to place the sleeper “on top” of the bed, as opposed to “in it”. Since these coils are wrapped individually, they’re also likely to allow extra breathability as air flows through the spaces in the coils.
Base Layer – Lastly, you’ll discover a thin section of high-density poly foam. This section does not affect the feel of the mattress too much, working mostly to provide the pocketed coils something off of which to react.
Firmness and Support
After having a peek at the construction of the Helix mattresses, let us talk about their varying feels and firmness levels.
The firmness level of the Helix is going to vary widely depending on which version you pick out. The Helix Midnight and Dusk, have moderate firmness levels, which is going to be quite versatile and therefore best-selling. If you are more particular, however, Helix Sleep is happy to oblige you with more choices.
Lying down on the Midnight, the memory foam comfort layer is soft and produces some high quality body shaping, while the other materials in the Midnight work to counteract this and create an overall firmer composition. The firmer support foams and pocketed coils also help with re-positioning.
For those who sleep on their back, there’s enough good comfort material here to conform to your lower spine while supporting your upper spine in a neutral position. For larger buyers or those who want a firmer mattress, there are two more models for you in the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn variants.
Most side sleepers will feel totally comfortable on the Midnight, however, if you are needing a bit less pressure while still sticking with a flexible medium firmness, you might decide to check out the Helix Dusk, which utilizes a body-conforming latex-alternative foam that’s breathable and gives the surface a small bit of bounce.
Those who sleep on their side typically need to be mindful of pressure since they sleep with all their weight on a smaller area. Those who are lighter than average or people in the market for lots of pressure relief might want to stay with the plusher variants.
Stomach sleepers should feel supported in the Midnight, particularly if this is not their primary position or they have a tendency to change things up a lot. Firmer choices may be preferable for exclusive stomach sleepers so that they can make sure their hips do not dip and over-arch their backbone.
Last, the manufacturer recommends Helix for sleepers around 350 pounds or couples that weigh a maximum of 250 lbs each. In the event you or your spouse are substantially larger than average, the company has also produced a bed called the Nightfall that is made to accommodate a combined weight of 1000 pounds.
Couples with different types of bodies or preferences may also select a dual comfort variant that pairs Firm with Plush.
Bear in mind that if neither of those models feel right, you can always have a look at the four other mattresses in the new collection: the Sunset (plush, softer compared to the Moonlight), Dusk (medium feel, a little firmer than the Midnight), Twilight (firm, designed for side sleepers), or Dawn (the firmest option of the bunch).
Next up, let us chat about motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. While this will be significant for many people, those who sleep with a spouse may find it especially intriguing as it’ll illuminate just how bothered you’ll be by your bed mate’s nighttime movements. According to my research, Helix exceeds expectations for hybrids in this space due to the amount and quality of foam it contains, as well as the pocketed coils that help trap motion at its source. If you are a light sleeper afraid that motion from the other side of the mattress will wake you, then you should not have much concern with this mattress. I’d say that any of the Helix mattresses are a good choice for couples.
When buying a brand-new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it.
While you may encounter some immediate sinkage in the uppermost foam layers, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit the pocketed coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
Though I do feel the memory foam collapse as I sit near the edge of the mattress, the pocketed coils stop the mattress from collapsing a lot beyond that. I feel very secure seated on the mattress.
In my view, Helix mattresses perform above average for edge support compared to other bed-in-a-box brands, and this is due to their freshly updated edges that contain reinforcement in the coil system. There can be some compression in the comfort foams when you sit with your entire weight on the side, but lying on the side will feel comfy and secure. Partners who want more space to stretch out typically appreciate strong edges.
Laying down, I also feel like I can get close to the edge of the mattress without feeling like I’ll roll off or be pushed off the mattress. Overall, I think that the Helix mattress has great edge support.
100 Night Sleep Trial
Among the best features of buying a mattress-in-a-box online is the sleep trials they typically include. Helix Mattress is no different. You customize the mattress that is made for you, place your order, and within two weeks, it is sent to your home. From the minute you click to buy the mattress, you have 100 nights to check it out (minus the time for delivery, so it is more like 90 nights). If it isn’t ideal, you can return it for free of charge, and get a complete refund.
If you do return the mattress, it isn’t resold or restocked. Actually, Helix Sleep locates a local place to donate it. If there’s no way Helix Sleep can find a way to donate your returned mattress, it is recycled instead. Bed For Helix Mattress
Helix Sleep offers a generous 10-year warranty that covers flaws, but it has limitations, exceptions, while the burden of proof is on the consumer (like most warranties). Needless to say, you should be the original owner of the mattress to use the warranty, and you will need to be sure you save your receipt as proof of purchase.
Provided that you follow all of Helix’s expectations for use, your warranty will be valid. That means you will need to use a proper foundation (no adjustable bed frames or slats over 4″ apart) and you don’t use the mattress improperly – no jumping on the bed!
If your mattress begins to show an indentation of 1″ or longer, something that typically happens when low-density foams break down, you could qualify for a replacement or repair of your mattress.

What’s The Best Way To Care For Your Helix?
Helix mattresses need no flipping, but it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice a year to keep it from wearing down from excessive sagging.
For regular cleanup, it is suggested to use cool water along gentle dish soap to clean any dirt or stains. Make sure to clean using gentle circular movements, instead of rubbing.
