Construction Are Latex Mattresses Soft
The Puffy is basically a memory foam mattress that measures a total of 10 inches. It has a simple design with just two foam layers: one of thick memory foam and also another of high-density poly foam.

Here are the details listed on their website:
10″ MATTRESS | 2 LAYERS
6.5 – 8.5 Medium-Firm Comfort
4″ Cooling Cloud Foam: Puffy’s gel-infused foam improves airflow 8x more than conventional foam mattresses. Provides pressure relief and cooling.
6″ Firm Core Support Foam: Outstanding support and spinal alignment for restorative sleep.
Cover – The cover fabric was quite thin, which encourages airflow throughout the mattress. It is made out of polyester, which makes for a soft and elastic material.
Comfort Layer – Comprised of 4″ of gel memory foam, the comfort layer here is super soft and has a very slow response to pressure, which usually means you are likely to sink in deep for some intense body contouring. While it’s normal for all-foam beds like this to incorporate a top section of memory foam, this layer in particular is incredibly thick and ought to bring some satisfying relief to the shoulders and hips. And though memory foam has a reputation for overheating in the night, Puffy has been able to mitigate this using a gel infusion intended to keep things nice and cool as you are sleeping.
Support Layer – Composed of 6″ of high-density poly foam, unlike the memory foam layer above it, this part has a fast response to pressure and is quite firm. The combination of materials has been specifically chosen to bring targeted relief to the spine. Are Latex Mattresses Soft
We found Puffy’s thick memory foam layer having a gentle, pressure-relieving texture. An absence of any kind of transition foam implies that you are very likely to interact mainly with the high-density poly foam as you quickly sink through the memory foam comfort layer. Because of this, you’re likely to feel as though you’re sleeping more “in” this mattress than “on top” of it. Although, if you would like an even softer texture, you might want to check out the Puffy Lux, which comes with an additional layer of memory foam for an ultra-plush vibe.
Another important factor to consider when purchasing a new mattress is where pressure points will form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these tension spots could be, I put a pressure map over the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You may see the results on the chart where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Laying on my back, I could really feel myself sinking into the mattress, together with the memory foam in the top layer working to contour to my body and fill in the space at my lumbar region. While this led to a great pressure relief in this position, it did make it hard to move around and change positions.
Side – Rolling on my side, I sensed some pressure relief. I am not too surprised with this as side sleepers tend to go for softer mattresses that offer cushiony support to the shoulders and hips, typical problem areas for those who sleep in their sides.
Stomach – Though the thick memory foam comfort layer is a big win for side sleepers, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for stomach sleepers who generally opt for firmer mattresses that keep the spine in an even alignment. HereI could feel my hips sinking out of line with my shoulders, which created some discomfort in this position.
Next up, let’s take a look at the Puffy’s motion transfer, or the amount of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10lb. steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is meant to signify a different movement you are likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are really quite intriguing motion transfer outcomes. You’ll notice a slight spike in first movement across the drops that quickly dissipates, which I’d attribute to the thick memory foam comfort layer. This material is excellent at absorbing and dampening motion, which makes it so you are unlikely to be overly disturbed by your partner’s tossing and turning in the night.
When buying a new mattress}, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking “into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
10 lb steel ball: 2.5 inches of sinkage.
50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
100 lb medicine ball: 7 inches of sinkage.
This tells me is that you’re likely to sink deeply through the foam layers within this mattress, resulting in a stuck-in-the-bed type feel that will make it a bit difficult to change positions. Are Latex Mattresses Soft
The edge support on the Puffy mattress will feel secure and create a sound, edge to edge usable sleep surface. The compact base foam paired with the supportive memory foam should create a very strong perimeter. Sleeping on this mattress you’re able to feel a consistent feel across the entire surface and not have a “rolling out of the bed” feel. As far as sitting on the edge goes, you will feel some support.
101 Night Sleep Trial and Guarantee
The Puffy mattress has a 101 night sleep trial period. This trial period should give you more than enough time to try this bed out. Giving you and your body roughly 3 months to adjust to the new and improved feel of your memory foam mattress. It’s good to note that you need to take advantage of really testing this mattress in this time period. Anytime you buy a new mattress your body needs a few weeks to months to fully adapt. If for some reason you get to the end of your trial period and it isn’t a good fit, Puffy will easily work together with you to return and refund your purchase.
This mattress has a lifetime warranty which goes above and beyond what the standard warranty for the mattress business is. This guarantee indicates that Puffy really backs their product. Covering any abnormal defects or manufacturing mistakes. Minus the typical wear and tear of a mattress. This provides consumers with the assurance that this can be a mattress that the company is going to stand behind.

Puffy Mattress Sleep Temperature?
The Puffy mattress uses cooling technology in each material of the mattress. The top layer of memory foam is a patent-pending cooling cloud foam which uses conduction and convection to dissipate heat and keep it away from the body. Additionally,a it is infused with gel that improves the airflow 8x more than standard foam mattresses.
The foundation foam is dense and supportive to create a solid base that won’t allow you to sink into the mattress and help keep you closer to the surface where less heat will build around the body. The cover is also breathable to help in keeping cool. All this enables for your mattress to maintain an ideal temperature whilst sleeping.
Is The Puffy Mattress Right For You?
First of all, I’d say this mattress could make an excellent pick for side sleepers as the thick comfort layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips.
Also note that the Puffy evokes a traditional memory foam feel, so can be good for anybody with a penchant for the material. Are Latex Mattresses Soft
And finally, this is one soft mattress, so could do wonders for anybody in search of a gentle, calming structure.
While the memory foam is a significant selling point of this mattress, it does make things a bit uncomfortable for strict stomach sleepers who might find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
Additionally, it contributes to a structure that does not have very much bounce, which might be a detractor for people in need of buoyant support.
Final Thoughts On The Puffy Mattress Are Latex Mattresses Soft
The Puffy mattress is a great choice for everyone who are looking to get all the advantages of a foam mattress without overpaying. The simple design makes it a classic. This mattress is covered in a removable cover that can be unzipped and washed when needed. The top is soft and pliable and fits well to the mattress. It has a rather suitable and aesthetically pleasing cloud layout that really adds to the look. The side panels are a dark gray durable fabric that compliment the mattress too. Unlike the traditional foam mattresses, this one is going to remain cool and will cradle you fairly well and will provide decent pressure relief. Puffy is extremely sturdy and includes motion isolation that makes it appropriate for many different types of sleepers. Although, I’d like to say this mattress is an excellent pick for side sleepers because the thick relaxation layer works to relieve tension at the shoulders and hips. Moreover, the mattress provides proper body support and is a fantastic selection for all people who suffer from back pain or joint pain. Are Latex Mattresses Soft
